Reclaiming the Past To Build Our Future

The first-ever Radical Reuse Festival and artisan fair, was Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Radical Reuse Center in Union, Maine. This event featured artists, artisans, makers, and craftspeople who make, build, fabricate, and imagine art and products made primarily out of materials reclaimed from the deconstruction of the Ephraim Barrett house, a circa-1800’s home in Camden, Maine. F L O W | A Community Exploration of Art, Ecology & History

Flow is an event series produced by the Coaction lab in association with the Intermedia MFA and New Media undergraduate programs at the University of Maine and in collaboration with the Friends of Fort Knox. This event series is focused on water as a precious resource that connects and supports the diverse range of living systems on our planet. The event will take place on June 24th 2017 at the historic Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory in Prospect ME, across the Penobscot river from Bucksport ME.

Bearing the Light was an exploration of site-specific and socially-engaged work that invited the public to view and experience Fort Knox in a way that they never had before as its darkest spaces are illuminated and reimagined with light, water, sound, and reflection. To implement this project, UMaine MFA artists invited fellow collaborators to join them in reimagining the space. The project challenged collaborators to design and build a transformative installation within the 24 hours immediately prior to opening the site to the public. Resisting Entropy is an exercise in creating collaboratively within a condensed timeframe and shared space. The participating artists begin at noon on Friday, confronted with a sizeable heap of discarded and junked materials, and, over the next 24 hours, live and work together to transform the pile into unique and unpredictable artworks.

In conjunction with the MEAD (Maine Environmental Art & Design) Conference, Blue Marble Project featured the work of 20 Maine artists focusing on topics concerning the Earth and it's oceans. My own work focused on the fragility of life and the precarious stance of human civilization through a series of collage pieces.

The third manifestation of the Resisting Entropy experiment. This edition was organized in collaboration with The Collective of the Farnsworth Art Museum in conjunction with their World of Oz exhibit in March of 2014. Over the course of 24 hours over a dozen artists recreated a twisted rendition of Dorothy's house.
